The Pizza Express in Berkhamsted building’s set just back from the high street, and set apart from the buildings either side by distinctive signage and lighting. That layout’s also made space for a large decking area surrounded by plants, a feature with huge appeal at a time when outdoor dining’s never felt more attractive. Bi-folding doors lead to an open, welcoming interior, with a mix of private booths and high tables. The seating plan makes enough space for solo diners, couples, friends and families, and larger parties. Naturally, the spherical pizza oven takes centre stage at the heart of the layout.
