Teams this ambitious are a rare breed – The Corn Stores transformation
Where it all began
In 2017 the team at Rarebreed Dining approached us looking for a design partner to work closely with them to design, deliver and help guide them through their biggest and most complicated project to date – the complete renovation of the Grade II Listed The Corn Stores building, located in the centre of Reading, it represented Rarebreed’s most ambitious project yet. They’ve got high standards for customer service, and we provided the constant support (and flexibility) to match their dedication.
The Corn Stores has been home to a number of restaurant and pub ventures during the recent years in it’s long history. Before the Rarebreed Team acquired the site it was owned and operated by Fullers. The site had remained derelict for around 3 years, leading to dilapidation. Much of the building needed a significant period of drying out after so many years of remaining uninhabited and much of the building needed focus to repair and reinstate its original finishes.
We lovingly restored 4 floors of this historic landmark to become a home from home, featuring a cocktail bar, restaurant and members’ lounge. A new feature stair now provides access to every floor, creating a very different, multi-level experience for the customer to explore and immerse themselves in the Rarebreed experience. What has been created is a truly impressive transformation, with a unique, bold design that has been seamlessly crafted into every detail.
